Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 20 new confirmed cases today

There have been 20new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum in the last 24 hours, the total for the borough is now 982, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were 178 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 7,990.

Hide AdThere have been no new deaths of a patient testing positive for Covid-19 in Dacorum or Hertfordshire today. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test in Dacorum is still 97, and in Hertfordshire it is still 873 deaths.


There have been 673,622 lab-confirmed cases in the UK, rising by 18,980.
The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 43,293, rising by 138 - according to Public Health England.
Nationally, the death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Hide AdPreviously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.
However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.
The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday, October 13, and Wednesday, October 14.

Areas in England will now be labelled as medium, high or very high risk, depending on their infection rates, which will inform the “appropriate interventions” needed in each area.
Dacorum and Hertfordshire have both been ranked in the "medium" tier.
