Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 14 new cases in the last 24 hours

Dacorum has recorded 14 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (March 17).

The total for the borough is now 8,333, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 47.2 per 100,000 population to 41.4 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending March 12).

Here is a breakdown of where the confirmed cases were recorded seven days up to March 11.

On March 10, the incidence rate was 63.3 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending March 5).

There have been 63 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 75,208.

According to Public Health England there were 57 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, March 9, and 13 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 318, and three new deaths have been recorded in Hertfordshire, the total is 2,445 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,758 and now stands at 4,274,579. The number of deaths has risen by 141 to 125,831.

The estimated R number is 0.6 to 0.8 with a daily infection growth rate range of -7% to -4% as of March 12.

As of March 16, in the UK, 25,273,226 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 1,759,445 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday, March 15, and 5pm on Tuesday, March 16.
