Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 13 new positive cases today

Hertfordshire records 79 new cases

Dacorum has recorded 13 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (March 25).

The total for the borough is now 8,400, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has increased from 33 per 100,000 population to 33.6 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending March 20).

On March 18, the incidence rate was 38.1 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending March 13).

There have been 79 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 75,712.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> March 18 - eight cases

> March 19 - five cases

> March 20 - 10 cases

> March 21 - three cases

> March 22 - 13 cases

> March 23 - eight cases

> March 24 - seven cases.

According to Public Health England there were 43 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, March 23, and 12 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 318, and one new death recorded in Hertfordshire, the total is 2,452 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,397 and now stands at 4,319,128. The number of deaths has risen by 63 to 126,445.

The estimated R number is 0.6 to 0.9 with a daily infection growth rate range of -6% to -3% as of March 19.

As of March 24, in the UK, 28,991,188 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 2,775,481 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday, March 23, and 5pm on Wednesday, March 24.
