Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 127 new cases today

Dacorum has recorded 127 new positive Covid-19 cases today (January 7).

The total for the borough is now 5,298, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 719.2 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 3).

There have been 1,158 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 48,651.

According to Public Health England there were 330 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust on Tuesday, January 5, and 18 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been three new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 148, and there have been 22 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 1,279 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 52,618 and now stands at 2,889,419. The number of deaths has risen by 1,162 to 78,508.

As of January 3, 1,296,432 people in the UK had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday, January 5, and 5pm on Wednesday, January 6.
