Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 126 new cases today

Dacorum has recorded 126 new positive Covid-19 today (December 31).

The total for the borough is now 4,216, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 475.6 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending December 26).

There have been 1,204 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 38,581.

According to Public Health England there were 285 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust on Wednesday, December 30, and 18 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been five new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 134, and there have been 23 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 1,166 - according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 55,892 and now stands at 2,488,780.

The number of deaths has risen by 964 to 73,512.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Tuesday, December 29, and 5pm on Wednesday, December 30.
