Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 12 new confirmed cases

There have been 12 new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum in the last 24 hours, the total for the borough is now 816, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.
There were 154 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 6,747.

Hide AdThere has been one new death of a patient testing positive for Covid-19 in Hertfordshire and no new deaths in Dacorum. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test in Dacorum remains at 94, in Hertfordshire it is now 861 deaths.
There have been 544,275 lab-confirmed cases in the UK, rising by 14,162.
The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 42,515, rising by 70 - according to Public Health England.
Nationally, the death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Hide AdPreviously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.
However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.
The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6.
