Coronavirus latest: Another fall in Dacorum's Covid figures in last 24 hours

Dacorum has recorded just 17 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (February 9).

The total for the borough is now 7,795 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 206.8 per 100,000 to 190 per 100,000.

On February 2, the incidence rate was 280.4 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending January 28).

There have been 197 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 71,301.

According to Public Health England there were 215 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 2, and 19 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There has been one new Covid-related death recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 287. There were another 23 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 2,222 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 12,364 and now stands at 3,972,148. The number of deaths has risen by 1,052 to 113,850.

As of February 8, in the UK, 12,646,486 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 516,392 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Sunday, February 7, and 5pm on Monday, February 8.
