A secondary school in Hemel Hempstead has shared a video showing teachers welcoming back students and the measures they took to ensure the safety of the pupils and staff, as the lockdown restrictions continue to ease.

The Astley Cooper School in Grove Hill, welcomed back students in Year 10 and 12 last week.

The video shows Headteacher, Edward Gaynor, members of staff and the pupils themselves, giving first-hand accounts of their return back to school.

Hertfordshire County Council has been working to support the return of more pupils to it's primary and secondary schools, including The Astley Cooper School in Grove Hill, Hemel Hempstead.

Headteacher Edward Gaynor said: “Following the most recent government advice, we’ve welcomed back 25 per cent of our Year 10 and 12 students and it has been fantastic to see our students back at school!”
