Local comedy mainstay Get Stuffed has arranged a side-splitting line-up in order to boost funds for the school’s annual World Challenge trip.

Organiser Ben Moorhouse said: “It’s a great line up, so it should be a great night.”

King of banter Ian Stone, ranked in The Independent’s Top Ten Stand Up Acts, will kick off the evening in the school’s Desborough Hall with his topical humour.

There’s set to be gags a-plenty with support act Jay Foreman, a guitarist-cum-comedian who will be plucking the audience’s funny strings with amusing ditties and singalongs.

Canadian-born Erich Mcelroy has been spreading stand-up cheer in the UK since 2001, and has been a regular on the London and UK gigging circuit.

But the comedy event will see the introduction of highly-anticipated and amusingly-named nordic Olaf Falafel who is billed as the ‘eighth funniest comedian in Sweden and is one of the Tringe’s former Roving Comedy night debutants.

Every year, an eight-week training course culminates in a group of comedy newbies wander between several Tring pubs, testing their new-found skills on expectant punters.

Ben said: “I don’t usually make a habit of booking my former trainees, but he’s gone on to great things.”

With single show tickets about to go on sale for the annual Tringe Festival in July, Ben encouraged those live comedy virgins to give it a go.

“It really is worth taking the plunge, because there’s a whole lot of great comedy going on across the region.”

Doors for the school support gig open at 7.15pm on Friday, May 3, for an 8pm start.
