Local company to host free event to help business owners plan their exit

Local business owner Martin Munro from The Alternative Board (TAB) West Hertfordshire, has announced that he is hosting a FREE, 2-hour interactive workshop: Planning Your Exit – How to Maximise Business Value & Secure Your Future.
Together with David Nield and Phil Smith, colleagues from The Alternative Board, and featuring insights from Adrian Summers (Barclays Wealth Management), the event is on Wednesday 19 November, 10:00 – 12:00 at the Maylands Business Centre, Hemel Hempstead. Refreshments and networking are included.
Martin runs successful peer boards where TAB members meet to discuss and tackle business challenges together. The regular sessions, alongside one-to-one coaching, enable business owners to get advice, set targets and improve their businesses with the support of other non- competitive owners.
Martin explains how they want to help SME owners across the area as the budget and uncertainties of 2026 loom, “We help businesses on a daily basis, and one of the common causes for concern is what happens when I need to leave or retire from my business. That is why we have organised the free event, as we know how important this subject is and can so often be overlooked.
“Even if you aren’t near to exiting your business, it is never too early to plan for where you want to be when the time comes. Exiting your business may be the most important financial decision you’ll ever make - yet readiness isn’t just about money. It’s about timing, mindset, and how well your business can thrive without you.”
TAB works with hundreds of SME members across the UK and has a global network spanning 24 countries. TAB members meet monthly to share their business challenges and provide each other with practical, real-world advice.
Spaces for the workshop are limited and booking is required. For more information about the event or about The Alternative Board please contact Martin on 07775 806008, [email protected] or visit https://www.thealternativeboard.co.uk/west-herts
