Hemel company gobbles up timber products firm for £1M

Hemel-based company James Latham has snapped up a timber and cladding firm for £1million.

The firm, which is headquartered in Swallow Park, Finway Road, is one of the UK’s largest independent distributors of timber, panels and decorative surfaces.

It acquired the entire issued share capital of Dresser Mouldings Rochdale on Monday, which is described as a specialised processor of timber and cladding products.

“We are delighted to have acquired Dresser which will allow us to increase our offering in processed timber,” said James Latham chairman Nick Latham.

“We have worked together with Dresser for many years on some fantastic projects producing innovative solutions for architects.

“We have first-hand experience of the quality of their work and the in-depth knowledge of the staff at Dressers which is necessary for delivering these complicated projects."

Operating from 12 branches across the UK and Ireland, James Latham works with merchants, distributors, construction professionals, designers, and architects, enabling the most demanding designs and construction projects to become reality.

At 8.46am on Monday, shares in the firm were down 0.29 per cent at 860p.
