Pizza Express unveils new-look pizzeria in Berkhamsted

Pizza Express has unveiled its redesigned and relocated Berkhamsted High Street restaurant, following an extensive refurbishment.

Located a few doors’ down from the original site, which opened in 1996, the renovation took under a month to complete and is the first of Pizza Express’ new-look restaurants to debut locally.

The re-design has been developed to reflect the original vision of founder Peter Boizot which has been Pizza Express’ mantra since 1965 - to bring people together for good times and great pizza.

The open kitchen takes centre stage at the heart of the new restaurant, with a choice of different dining experiences inside and out for up to 110 diners.

In addition, its terrace has been developed to provide a relaxing al-fresco fining hotspot.

The restaurant’s new design incorporates the latest new safety measures that enhance guest and team protection and blend with the lively buzz of the pizzeria.

These include a more physically distanced layout, hand sanitiser stations, enhanced hygiene procedures and cleaning measures, along with regular health checks of team members.

The online booking service makes it easy to reserve a table, and a new digital menu and cashless payment have been introduced to assist and reassure customers.

"Our design team have worked tirelessly to create a fantastic restaurant that is unlike anything else in the area; it looks fantastic and our customers and team are loving it.
