The ongoing regeneration of Hemel Hempstead is about to be given a boost with the launch a new apartment building close to the town centre.

Bellway North London is set to unveil The Foundry, which will consist of 110 privately-owned new one and two-bedroom apartments set within a single, seven-storey building, on Saturday, August 22.

Information will also be provided on some of The Foundry’s innovative additions, such as the on-site residents-only business suite, parcel management system, and on-site Estates Manager, as well as its outdoor space which is set to include table tennis tables and outdoor dining space.

The Foundry is being constructed on the former Dacorum Campus of West Herts College and its name is linked to the former ironmongery and iron foundry in Old High Street, which is marked by a plaque on the old town’s heritage trail.

The ironmongery was set up by Joseph Cranstone in 1798 and his son, also called Joseph, established the foundry on the site, as well as going on to build and own the town’s first gas works.

Sales and Marketing Director for Bellway North London, Greg Allsop, said: “This will be the first chance for people to come and see our plans for The Foundry on site in person.

“We are delivering a high-quality range of 110 apartments here that will be ideally suited to the new way of living and working post lockdown.

“For first-time buyers and those who are able to work from home, the fast broadband connections we will deliver on-site means the commute to the office is no longer required, while The Foundry will also benefit from its own residents-only business suite to ensure complete privacy can be achieved right on your doorstep.

“Residents will also be able to make use of the communal grounds which are an extension of the building, providing recreational facilities including table tennis tables and an outdoor dining area, meaning homeowners can enjoy picnics and al fresco dining during a long summer’s evening, in addition to private outdoor space to each apartment via a balcony or terrace.

“Our innovative parcel management system means occupants will now be able to receive home deliveries safe in the knowledge that the delivery has been made safely, even when you’re not at home.

“This will be an attractive and well-thought-out place to live, set within communal gardens and recreational open space on site, with gated parking for all buyers, video entry to the building and an Estates Manager to take care of the small things in life.

“A lot of careful planning and preparation has gone into The Foundry and the entire team has worked incredibly hard since work began on the site earlier this year.

“With construction now progressing well, we anticipate the first residents will be able to move into their new homes next year.”
