A hospice in Berkhamsted has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Hemel Hempstead.

The Hospice of St Francis helps those who are managing or recovering from serious illness. The charity helps individuals to live life well by improving symptoms and by working with those in their care to achieve personal goals.

The donation will be used to support the hospice's Community Nursing Team which has had to adapt its services during the pandemic.

Claire Larkin, corporate partnerships manager at The Hospice of St Francis, said: “We have been working tirelessly for the past number of months to ensure that those in our care continue to receive the dedicated support services they need.

"It is a privilege to accept this donation from Mark and the team.”

The donation forms part of the ‘Amazon In The Community’ programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations are one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering over 2 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
