Shortlist news is just music to the ears

A village piano shop has been shortlisted for a nationwide award that recognises excellence customer service and making music more accessible.

Family-run Montague Pianos in Northchurch is one of only five music stores shortlisted from more than 200 retailers for the Take It Away Retailer of the Year Award.

The High Street shop was nominated by customers for delivering outstanding customer service and for going above and beyond the ordinary in ‘supporting music making in the community’.

Store director Lee Chapman said: “We are delighted that our customers have nominated us for this special award - and thrilled to be shortlisted.

“We believe that every child should have the opportunity to play music and the Take It Away scheme helps make this a reality.”

The winner of the award will be announced at the glittering MIA Music Awards ceremony at London’s Park Plaza Riverbank on Tuesday, November 18.

Northchurch based Montague Pianos is one of only five music stores shortlisted

from over 200 nationwide retailers for the Take it away Retailer of the Year Award.

Take it away is an Arts Council initiative that aims to make musical instruments more

accessible to children and young people. A keen supporter of the scheme, Montague

Pianos was nominated by customers for delivering outstanding customer service and for

going ‘above and beyond the ordinary in supporting music making in the community’.

The winner of the Take it away Retailer of the Year Award will be announced at the
