Lambing season is set to return to Willows Activity Farm this half term as the Hertfordshire leisure attraction gets ready for its annual February Frolics event. The nine-day celebration of fleecy fun starts on Saturday, February 14 and runs until Sunday, February 22.

Andrew Wolfe, director at Willows Activity Farm, near St Albans, says: “Lambing is our first big event of 2026 and definitely one of the cutest in the farming calendar. We are expecting over 70 lambs to be born to more than 30 mule cross ewes.”

Half term visitors can head to the lambing pens where Tuck the Shepherd will be talking to guests about lambing on the farm, as well as giving lamb bottle feeding demonstrations.

Andrew adds: “Sheep are typically pregnant for around five months, so the process has been carefully timed to coincide with half term. With so many lambs being delivered by Tuck and the team every day of the school holiday there’s a good chance that many of our visitors will be able to witness the arrival of newborn lambs and watch them take their first steps into the world.”

Back for 2026 is the Mad Science team who will be at Willows with a host of ewe-nique and un-ewe-usual experiments, along with hands-on science workshops to keep little professors entertained every day of the half term holiday.

Children can also look forward to meeting Bo Peep who will be looking for her sheep every day at Willows. She will be starring in regular shows in the Peter Rabbit Theatre throughout the day.

Andrew adds: “As well as an un-bleat-able jam-packed programme of fleecy fun this half term, we also have all the usual Willows farm activities for visitors to look forward to including the PETER RABBIT™ Adventure Playground, Peter Rabbit shows throughout the day, The Farmyard animals, funfair rides and Tristan the Runaway Tractor.”

February Frolics takes place between February 14 and 22. Tickets include all activities, shows and adventure play and can be purchased in advance online with savings on family tickets.
