Cracking fun at Herts farm park this Easter

Families heading to Willows this Easter have twice as many reasons to visit as the leisure attraction near St Albans hosts two special events back-to-back over the school holiday period.
The 500 acre farm park kicks off its Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday 28 March which runs until Monday 6 April. Visitors will be able to see a host of newborn lambs, kid goats, baby bunnies and spring chicks everyday of the ten-day event.
Andrew Wolfe, director at Willows Activity Farm, says: “We’ve got a number of baby chicks in The Farmyard and 65 newborn lambs – with more being born everyday – to greet our Easter visitors.”
Families will be able to hunt for eggs in the farm’s Easter Garden, while the Easter Grotto, which features 12 unique springtime displays, provides an ideal backdrop for springtime-inspired social media moments.

“Spring is definitely in the air at Willows,” says Andrew. “As well as Easter chicks and spring lambs, our newborn kid goats, piglets and rabbits will also be out to meet visitors.”
With the Easter weekend falling in the middle of the two week school break, Willows has adjusted its programme with Easter celebrations everyday of the first week, before kicking off Jemima’s Jamboree, a spring-themed event, running until Sunday 12 April.
Andrew adds: “There’s double the fun at Willows this Easter as much-loved CBeebies star and resident farm character, Jemima Puddleduck, will be hosting our spring celebrations in the second week of the school holidays.”
As well as newborn lambs, chicks, rabbits, piglets and kid goats, Jemima’s Jamboree sees the farm get ready to welcome ducklings for the first time to the animal family at Willows. There will also be a Meet and Greet with Jemima, Jemima’s Egg Hunt and a chance to meet the new ducklings in The Farmyard everyday of the event.
Andrew adds: “We are also thrilled to welcome back children’s entertainer and magician, Joe Banana, who will be casting a spell over our guests with shows throughout the Jamboree.”
Easter fun hunters can also look forward to a choc-a-bloc schedule of cracking entertainment including spring-themed crafts, pig racing, lamb bottle feeding demonstrations and the return of the undercover sandpit.
Plus resident shepherd, Tuck Hegarty, will be putting Willows’ working sheepdogs, Jess and Biggles, through their paces in the daily Dog and Duck show as they round up six Runner ducks in the show arena.
Andrew adds: “In addition to an eggs-cellent programme of spring celebrations, we also have all the usual Willows farm activities for visitors to look forward to including the PETER RABBIT™ Adventure Playground, Adventure Golf, Peter Rabbit shows throughout the day, The Farmyard animals, funfair rides and Tristan the Runaway Tractor.”
The Easter Eggstravaganza takes place Saturday 28 March – Monday 6 April. Jemima’s Jamboree runs from Tuesday 7 April until Sunday 12 April.
