Political intrigue from local author

It's not every day that you get the opportunity to read a novel about cultural misdemeanour and political intrigue on another continent. But that is exactly what Hertfordshire author Alastair McIver has determined to write about.
Having experienced first hand many of the very unusual political and cultural challenges faced by central Asians, he decided to write about some of them in fictional form. The result is his second novel, 'No one hears you scream - but silence will be heard,' published last week.
"The title probably tells you all that you need to know about what I write about," says Alastair Mciver. "Some of it isn't pleasant and it was a privileged over my working life to hear testimony from all sorts of survivors about the many unusual cultural situations that would shock most of us.
"That said, the sub heading, 'silence will be heard,' suggests redemption, justice, good overcoming evil, and that, I am pleased to say, is where the books land. The unnamed lady who uttered those title words, maybe a decade ago now, might not believe that anyone hears her. But I did. And I wanted to honour her memory. This novel is dedicated to her."

'No one hears you scream - bus silence will be heard',' is available now from www.alastairmciver.com (signed copies sent out if ordered before December 20) or on Amazon bit.ly/43Cyhfn
The first book in the series, 'The Daily News, - there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed,'' is also available from the author and on Amazon, as well as from Waterstones.
