Kings get the better of Comrades in pre-season clash

Last year’s SSML Premier Division champions Kings Langley edged it 1-0 at Berkhamsted on Tuesday night in a well contested pre-season friendly.

It was a competitive affair, with Alex Campana’s first half goal winning the game when he pounced on a stray pass and ran through to shoot under Carl Tasker.

Berko’s pre-season injury curse struck again as Adiel Mannion had to come off in the first half and was replaced by Pierce Kelly, with the latter only foiled by a crude foul as Berko played some neat football.

For the Comrades, new signings Jude Eboji and Jermaine Mitchell showed up well. Eboji was cruelly brought down just outside the area in the second half as Berko carved out a good opportunity with some skilful play, but the free-kick went just above the bar.
