Coronavirus latest: another fall in Dacorum's confirmed cases in last 24 hours

Hertfordshire records 80 new cases

Dacorum has recorded 14 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (February 26).

The total for the borough is now 8,100 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 64.6 per 100,000 to 63.3 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending February 21).

On February 19, the incidence rate was 94.3 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending February 14).

There have been 80 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 73,891

> February 20 - 11 cases

> February 21 - 22 cases

According to Public Health England there were 125 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 16, and 15 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been two new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 311. There have been seven new deaths recorded in Hertfordshire, the total is 2,398 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 8,523 and now stands at 4,163,085. The number of deaths has risen by 345 to 122,415.

As of February 25, in the UK, 19,177,555 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 736,037 had received their second dose.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Wednesday, February 24, and 5pm on Thursday, February 25.
