In demand solo musician Francesca Barritt is to perform at the Dacorum Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert.
Barritt, a noted violinist, equally at home as a concert soloist, orchestral leader and chamber musician, will be the star soloist at the concert being held at the Rudolph Steiner School in Kings Langley from 3.30pm on Sunday (October 16).
She will accompany talented local musicians from the Dacorum area in what promises to be an uplifting and memorable classical concert.
Tickets for under 18s are free, providing a great opportunity for budding young musicians to hear a full 60 piece orchestra and an exceptional soloist.
The orchestra, conducted by Thomas Loten, a leading figure in the Hertfordshire music scene since the Seventies, will perform a popular classical concert suitable for all ages and tastes.
The programme will include beautiful compositions from Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schubert.
The Dacorum Symphony Orchestra gave its first concert in 1972 and has performed an annual series of symphony concerts ever since.
The orchestra also performs at local schools in the area as part of its community work, and this gives children a chance to see an orchestra up close and ask any questions they wish.
Tickets for the concert cost £12 for adults, £10 concessions, under 18s free.
They are available on line at www.dacorumso.org, from the ticket secretary on 01494 727240 and on the door on the day.
Tickets are also available from local stockists including Luminous & Vogue, 24 Lower Kings Road, Berkhamsted; Aitchisons, 63 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead; and Montagues Gallery, 40 High Street, Kings Langley.
