The walk, which starts at 11am on Sunday, will follow a trail through the woodland with opportunities to spot wildlife and birds.

The walk is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the highest points in the Chilterns, with stunning views of the countryside over the Vale of Aylesbury.

All walkers are invited to join Hearing Dogs workers for the picnic afterwards and of course four-legged friends are more than welcome.

There will be plenty of hearing dogs to meet and greet.

Event organiser Lisa Bishop said: “Paws For A Walk is a fun-filled walking event for all the family, whether on two legs or four!

“We hope to see lots of friendly faces and wagging tails on the day, and for those walkers without a four-legged friend to bring along, there will be plenty of adorable dogs to meet at the event.

“We receive no government funding and all funds raised from Paws For A Walk will help us to train more adorable hearing dog puppies who will grow up to transform the life of a deaf person.”

Walkers are advised to take wellies and wet weather gear as the route can get quite muddy. There is ample parking (pay and display) at the woods, toilets and a cafe sellign snacks and drinks.

Walkers who register in advance will receive a free pedometer (while stocks last) and the top fundraiser at the walk will win a free hearing dog soft toy.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, based at The Grange in Saunderton, offers life changing support to deaf people, as the dogs are trained to alert their handlers to important sounds like the alarm clock, doorbell and fire alarm.

With hearing loss on the rise and one in six people in the UK suffering from some form of deafness, the charity is working to train even more hearing dog puppies than ever before.

Each hearing dog offers their deaf partner more independence, confidence and companionship.
