Steam tractors and engines at Potten End rally

DON’T miss Potten End’s fifth annual Steam Rally, in aid of the Berkhamsted-based Hospice of St Francis, this weekend.

Watch vintage tractors as they attempt to balance on a metal see-saw, see demonstrations of archery through the ages, wander through the majestic steam engines, take a look at the superbly restored vintage cars and motorbikes, and witness the commercial lorries and military vehicles showing their strength.

Youngsters will enjoy the donkey rides, Thomas the Tank Engine, having their faces painted and Harvey the Clown.

And along with escapologist Russ Walker there’ll also be a jazz band, plenty of cake, and a host of market stalls.

Alison Briant, director of nursing and clinical governance at the hospice, will perform the official opening of the event at 2pm on Saturday in the presence of the Mayor of Dacorum Gillian Chapman and MP for Hemel Hempstead Mike Penning.

Dacorum Steam and Country Fayre takes place at Greencroft Farm, Potten End, HP1 2SG is on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
