The Nashville artist is performing at Tring Athletic Football Club in Cow Lane on Thursday, October 30 as part of his European tour, which will see him play dates across the UK, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Norway.

Simmons was raised in America’s Tennessee – Dolly Parton’s birthplace – but he is now based in Nashville and is a widely respected artist on the Country/American scene.

After 10 years on the road, including three European tours and seven studio albums recorded, he has been compared to artists ranging from Johnny Cash to Ryan Adams.

He has appeared on a number of radio shows in the UK and on the continent, including the Bob Harris show on BBC Radio 2.

This visit to Tring is a unique opportunity to see an authentic Nashville artist live, when Simmons will be playing an acoustic set that will feature tracks from his recently released album, Silly, Sad, True. The night will be opened by local artist Chilli McCallum.

Simmons’ debut album, Last Call, was released in 2004 and his standout track Lay On The Tracks was a winner at the prestigious MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Competition. Last Call was praised by critics and picked up and released by Rounder Europe Records, followed by three more Rounder Europe releases and extensive touring in Europe.

Tickets cost £10 and are available at Tring Athletic, The Anchor pub or at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/stephen-simmons-live-in-concert-tickets-12265651895
