Detroit stars steals Limelight in Aylesbury

Marcus Malone and his band make a return visit to the Limelight Theatre ahead of the release of his latest album, A Better Man.

Marcus, from Detroit, Michigan, recorded his first album in Los Angeles. A classic, heavy metal offering, the album named Marcus was released om Zoom Records throughout Europe and the US in 2001.

He has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, opening for BB King, and in 2013 headlined the Tenby Blues Festival in Wales.

In 2014 he played the Great British R&B festival (on the International Stage) in Colne and in 2015 performed at the Skegness Rock and Blues Festival.

Since relocating to the UK Marcus has written, produced and recorded six albums on the Redline Music Label.

One More Time was released in 1999. The title song is featured on the compilation album, Blueprint 99 - The Best of the British Blues. Subsequent albums Walkin’ Shoes and Blue Radio enjoyed similar success, with tracks Take it to Heat and Mama Said being included on the Best of British Blues compilations.

His fourth album, Hurricane, released in March 2007, received great reviews in several rock publications and traditional blues magazines. He followed this success with Let the Sunshine In in 2011.

In 2014 he completed recording of his sixth CD, Stand or Fall and it was nominated for Best Recording Session 2014 by European Blues Awards.

His latest album, A Better Man, is set for release in April. It will be available on CD and vinyl, the first vinyl production for Marcus since his debt release.
