The belles are ringing for Christmas top spot
An Andrews Sisters style vocal trio is releasing a Christmas song for the Royal British Legion to aid their Poppy Appeal, and the ladies hope as many people as possible will download the single to help them reach Number One in the charts for Christmas.
Christmas Bells Are Ringing by The Three Belles was launched at the Royal Hospital Chelsea before the Chelsea Pensioners this week and is officially released on Sunday.
The talented performers, Anneka Wass, Isabelle Moore and Sally Taylor met at university and lived together in Berkhamsted until very recently.
Anneka, 25, grew up near Tring and attended Tring Park School.
Their voices blend beautifully as they harmonise in an old fashioned style to produce authentic sounding 1940s music.
Since graduating in 2011 they have performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, West End Live in Trafalgar Square and the Royal Albert Hall.
The trio has also performed at many major D-Day commemoration events in France and has appeared on television shows including The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Inside the National Trust, BBC South Today and BBC Arts.
Other recordings by The Three Belles include their debut album In Full Swing; a Christmas EP with Britain’s Got Talent stars The Jive Aces; and a swing version of Fairytale in New York with The Swinging Little Big Band, which charted at number three in the iTunes Jazz Chart 2012.
The girls have also featured in The Blockheads latest music video and were the house band on Heart FM for six months.
The Three Belles formed a relationship with the Royal British Legion in 2013 and have been a big part of the legion’s fundraising campaign, helping to raise money during the Poppy Appeal, and appearing at events around the country.
In January this year The Belles created the Ration Book Challenge and strictly followd the rationing guidelines of the Second World War, living off not much more than Bovril and spam fritters for two weeks, but they succeeded in raising over £1,000 for charity.
The Belles hope to see their brand new single reach the Christmas number one spot and are donating all profits to The Royal British Legion charity. It is available for download on iTunes, Amazon and all popular download sites.
