Founder of the National Scrabble Championships and president of the Association of British Scrabble Players, he has appeared on every word-based radio and television game show and is a regular visitor to Countdown’s ‘Dictionary Corner’.

Now, after taking Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival by storm last summer he is on a 42 date tour of the UK with his brand new show, Word Power!

And at 8pm on Monday June 6 he stops off at The Court Theatre in Tring.

Brandreth’s previous two shows were both five star sell outs and Word Power! is proving to be just as engaging and boisterous as its predecessors.

In addition, his brand new book, Word Play has been released to coincide with the tour.

Bertrand Russell wryly noted that, no matter how eloquently a dog may bark, he cannot tell you that his parents were poor but honest. Only words can do that. Language is power. Words are magic.

Brandreth, former MP and star of Just A Minute, The One Show, QI and Have I Got News For You, invites you all to join him on an uproarious magic carpet ride around the world of words.

He is one of Britain’s busiest after dinner speakers and award ceremony hosts.

He has won and been nominated for awards as a public speaker, novelist, children’s writer, broadcaster, political diarist, journalist, theatre producer and businessman.

He has featured on This Is Your Life and Desert Island Discs and is former chairman and now vice president of the National Playing Fields Association.

Tickets for the show cost £20 and are available from the box office on 07543 560478 or online at www.courttheatre.co.uk
