Yet more success for Berko as ladies celebrate title win
In truth, it was somewhat of an anti-climax as Saffron Walden conceded the title decider very late on, but nonetheless Berko can be proud of their unbeaten season.
Elsewhere, the ladies’ third XI had a rather satisfying end to their season with a 3-0 win against Letchworth, while the men’s second team played their last game of the campaign against St Albans.

Hide AdBerko made changes to their usual starting line-up, but they still romped to a 5-1 victory with goals from Julian Laxon, Ollie Bowman, Morris Moorhouse and Thomas Moorhouse.
Meanwhile, the men’s fourths had their chance for promotion dashed in the last game of the season as Rickmansworth won 2-1 to take the third promotion place.
Despite this, the team have had an excellent season and can look forward to September with some confidence.
The only other game to be played on Saturday saw the men’s fifth XI beaten 3-1 against a Southgate Development team in a friendly.
