Wright called up to the Herts squad as Cracknell impresses in Weymouth
Christian, aged 15, finished second in the long jump, third in the 100m with a time of 14.4s and third in the 400m in 69s – a new PB by a massive eight seconds.
Proud dad Robert extended his thanks to the club’s sprint coach Gavin Town for helping Christian achieve his goals.

Hide AdIn other club news, Kelly Du Buisson ran the Run to The Beat 10km in Wembley in 43:30, fast enough for a top-10 placing in the women’s race, and 191st position among the 7,466 finishers.
Samantha Hawkridge, meanwhile, ran the Old Deer Park Richmond Half Marathon in 2:05, just two minutes shy of her personal best.
Elsewhere, Dacorum & Tring AC athlete Andrew Cracknell had a brilliant start to his career as an Ironman triathlete, finishing as 22nd man overall at Challenge Weymouth.
The event consisted of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a full marathon of 26.2 miles.

Hide AdAndrew’s total time over the three events was a speedy 9:33:21, fast enough for third place in the 30-34 age group.
He said the swim was ‘horrendous’, with huge waves, but the bike and run both went smoothly:
“I was able to control my effort for a 5:40 split, and then ran 2.57 for the marathon,” he said.
“Apart from two cramps in the last five miles, which stopped me for about five minutes, it was a perfect day, and I’m over the moon with how it all went.”

Hide AdJan Strachan also competed at Challenge Weymouth, running the marathon leg of the triathlon as part of a three-person team.
She said: “The day was incredible; I loved the marathon by the sea, the locals were so supportive and I smashed my previous marathon PB by 28 minutes.
“I can’t believe I pulled out a 4:02:15 - I’m happy beyond belief!”
Jan is fresh off her solo effort at the Ironman distance, having completed the Challenge Roth in Germany in July.
