Cohen visited Tring as part of the club’s Bring a Friend for Free Week and to help with fundraising for the upcoming minis tour.

Cohen visited each of the age groups and spent time showing the players some new techniques and offering advice on training and how to succeed in the game.

He even made time to visit the TringRugby cubs – with an average of four none of them had any idea who he was but they thought he was ‘awesome’ anyway.

The club rounded off the morning with a Q and A session in the clubhouse where Cohen faced some cutting questions from the minis such as: “What’s your favourite cheese?” and “Do you have a girlfriend?’

Meanwhile at the club, the Tring Academy beat Diss in 22-12 in a Colts Cup clash.

The win came courtesy of two tries from Robbie Johnson, one from Ben Sainsbury, and a penalty and two conversions by Ben Hogan

Both Tring and Diss started brightly and were clearly up for the game.

In wet and muddy conditions and after some early Tring pressure, an interception by Diss saw them take the lead with a breakaway try.

Diss then piled on the pressure and scored again to make it 12-0 with only 15 minutes on the board.

The Tring coaches made a couple of changes and they immediately paid dividends as Tring scored to get back to 12-5 at half-time.

After the break Tring built phase after phase to level the scores at 12-12 and eventually managed to get ahead at 19-12 after some fantastic kicking out from the backs and strong forward play.

With five minutes to go , Ben Hogan secured the win with an assured penalty, and the forwards rucked and mauled the game out.

It was an excellent team performance against a very good Diss side and very competitive all round the park.

Well deserved man of the match for Tring was Johnson at centre, closely followed by all the team – especially the pack who worked their socks off in the tough, muddy conditions.
