Tring achieved another milestone with a second victory in two rounds, beating Bushey by 11 points and Hertsmere Flyers by 34 points – impressive progress since the autumn when Bushey beat Tring twice in the Arena League.

In total, the club achieved 16 event wins out of 49 races, and five more club records were broken after the five achieved in the first round. These went to Sam Pyefinch in the 25m fly (16.29s), the U14 boys’ freestyle relay team, the U16 girls’ team, the open girls’ team and the squadron team.

Swimmers of the Night were Pyefinch for his club record swims, and a fantastic PB win in the U12 50 backstroke in 37.06s, as well as Rosie Cave and Jasmine Booth.

Rosie swam a wonderful 5.5s PB to finish second in the U14 girls’ backstroke, and led off the winning U14 girls’ medley relay team, while Jasmine returned for her first race in over a year and won the girls’ open 100m breaststroke in 1.24.82s

Tring Swimming Club head coach Johnny Bradley said: “The star of the night was the whole team – every single swimmer made a difference and supported each other all the way.

“Now on to the final round on April 2 – our competitors will get tougher once again as we face a very strong Cheshunt team for the first time, as well as Bushey, Hertsmere and Verulam again. Good luck Team Tring!”
