Tring School make a splash to book a spot at nationals

Tring School swimmers are on their way to the Olympic pool in Stratford after impressing at the English Schools divisional heats in Watford.

Ten boys from the school were in action in the heats, with the junior boys’ team of Callum Bullock, Cole James, Walter Hackett, Nathan Gething George Thorne and Peter Kenyon finishing second in both the medley and freestyle relays.

The senior boys’ team of Josh Frewin, Tom Frewin, Rob Jennings and Harry Maishman came fourth in both relays against teams from all over the south and east of England, from both state and private schools.

Points from both these events were awarded and, at the end of the evening, Tring were crowned boys’ trophy winners – beating off competition from the 26 schools that had entered.

All of the times from the event were submitted to the English Schools Swimming Association, with Tring securing a top-20 finish to earn a spot in the national junior relay finals – as well as the senior medley relay final - at the London Aquatic Centre in Stratford next month.
