Tring finished the regular season with a thumping 68-12 win at Luton as, for the second week in a row, the son of a former first team player scored four tries.

Last week it was captain Nick Radley, and this week’s awesome foursome was scored by Tommy Ward.

Despite fielding a much-changed side, Tring dominated a tough Luton outfit and never took their foot off the gas.

Harry McCartney returned to the side following injury and was ever-present at the ruck, while Dan Wilton marked his first team debut with strong running throughout. Try scorers were Ward (4), Goss-Lambourne (2) Preston (2) and Rose (2). Criddle kicked nine conversions.

That will give Tring a big confidence boost ahead of this Saturday’s clash with Guildford, who finished second in London 1 South.

Tring are playing at home, kick-off is 3pm and there is £5 entry fee which is imposed by the RFU to cover the away team’s travelling expenses and to promote grassroots rugby.

There will be a barbecue and an outside bar so get there early and join in the festivities.
