The girls drew one and lost three of their games as they struggled without a goalkeeper, while the boys drew two and lost two.

Elsewhere, the West Herts U16 boys saw their winning streak come to an emphatic end on Sunday as they were thrashed 12-2 by Guildford.

After soaring through the Mercian Development and Challenge Leagues and then earning a slot in the inter-regional knockout tournament at the end of their first season in the North East League, West Herts fancied their chances of beating Guildford.

Last month, they secured a convincing first round victory against Amersham & Chalfont, however they travelled to Surrey with a somewhat depleted squad. They gave away two soft goals in the first few minutes, and then had to chase the match, exposing gaps in their defence.

Guildford took the chances that came their way, but West Herts missed theirs as they came crashing back to earth with a thud.

Elsewhere, even though the U14 boys’ game against Rickmansworth was postponed, other results assured them of a table topping end of season finish.
