A new event in the British Judo Council calendar, the tournament bought together competitors who are more used to fighting for different clubs than teaming up.

In the U30kg/U35kg/U40kg category, Haydn Williams was part of the Hertfordshire team along with St Albans and Shizentai (Borehamwood).

Next to fight in the U45kg/U50kg/U55kg category, Ralph Williams had teamed up with a St Albans competitor to make up the Hertfordshire team and, despite being one man down, they finished in a respectable fourth place.

Beth O’Conner was the last to fight as part of the seniors team who competed against the Leicestershire squad and quickly won the round to take the gold.

Two mixed senior teams were then made up, with Beth being part of the team that took the silver medal.
