Last year, as a result of their success in the British National Competition, the 12-year-old twins were invited to join Team BJC at Tamworth for extra training with a view to being selected for the British squad.

After turning 12 last month they were hoping they would make the junior squad.

Ralph was the first to get confirmation of selection and, with Haydn winning a further gold medal at the BJC National Team event last weekend, his call-up soon followed.

The boys train at Bury Judo Club and are coached by Roy Smith.
