Speedy Samantha zooms to top spot for Dacorum & Tring

Samantha Fawcett finished as first lady, in a time of 43:32, fast enough for seventh overall on a hilly, challenging course starting and finishing at Beechwood School.

Her twin sister Rebecca crossed the line as third lady, for 13th overall, in a time of 44:38, while Sam Sullivan was fifth lady and first in the V40 category, with a new PB of 46:35.

Sam’s twin, Alison Richardson, also ran strongly to finish as fourth V40 in a time of 53:08.

On the men’s side, Russell Morris came fifth overall and was first male veteran, in a time of 42:38, while Jason Hawkridge crossed the line in 52:41.

Elsewhere, Jessica Tanner and Kirsty Russell competed in the first ever Mud Pack Challenge – a muddy obstacle course race over five miles in the grounds of Ashridge House, organised as a fundraiser for the Hospice of St Francis.
