Six wins in a row sees Hemel Storm U18s close in on the play-offs

Hemel Storm’s U18 squad moved a step closer to the National Junior Premier League play-offs following a thrilling 93-91 victory secured in the final seconds of the game against Newham Youngblood Sabres.

The result means that Hemel have now won six games in a row and move up to third place in the table.

The athletic and talented Newham squad had defeated Storm in London earlier in the season, but in an all-round impressive display of team basketball meant Storm managed to keep in front on Sunday throughout four hard-fought quarters.

In the final seconds, and with the scores locked at 91-all, Hemel’s Gus Reece grabbed an offensive rebound and threw a perfect pass to Matt Renshaw who netted the winning score.
