Sam Lewis, 7, was competing in the U20kg category and won three out of four fights with excellent attacking judo to bag the silver medal.

Six-year-old Koby Duberry was in the U23kg category and had five fights. He won four and only lost in the final to a referee’s decision, thereby winning the silver medal with some impressive throwing judo.

Each of the squad members did the club proud and gained more vital experience for the future.

Other squad members who competed at the event were Liam Trill-Green, Jayden Duberry, Thomas Lewis, Ben Dibdin and Niall Curran.

Also competing were the Kiraly brothers who are from the Barnet club and associated members to Bury. David Kiraly took gold in the U23kg category and Stefan Kiraly took silver in the U30kg group.
