Sapphire girls show Eastern promise in Ipswich
Sapphire gymnasts were on form once again as the Eastern Counties’ Gymnastics Association held their Women’s Artistic In-age and FIG Championships in Ipswich.
In the Level Five group, Phoebe Boyton came 12th but managed an excellent third place on the floor, scoring 12.25.
In Level Three in-age for 10-year-olds’, Ondine Achampong was the clear winner with 52.80 and goes on to next month’s National Finals.

Hide AdAt Level Two for gymnasts of 11, Sapphire won gold, silver and bronze medals in the shape of Hallie Copperwheat, Lauren Matthews and Gypsy Squires, respectively.
The FIG individual and team championships was also held on the same day.
The Sapphire team came second overall and individually Imogen Davies was second in the Senior group, while Alyiena Rahim won the Espoir group and Megan Splain finished second.
