New initiative set to boost junior rugby league coaching in Dacorum
Sky Try Rugby League is a multi-million pound nationwide programme that will empower the Hemel Stags community team to deliver new opportunities within primary and secondary schools.
Each primary school is eligible to receive curriculum time coaching in tag rugby league followed by a participation festival at Pennine Way, the home of Hemel Stags.

Hemel Stags community manager Mike Stewart is currently working within the school networks to further define the implications of Sky Try Rugby League for each specific school and their pupils.
He said: “The effect of a sustainable investment of such magnitude from Sky Sports can only be positive for the sport of rugby league, Hemel Stags and the borough of Dacorum.”
As a result of the Sky Try Rugby League programmes it is hoped that more children will express a wish to join the Hemel Stags club which has been based in the town for over 30 years.
