In other news, twin sisters Sam and Becky Fawcett ran in the Swineshead five-mile race in Bedfordshire, with Sam finishing as first lady in a fast time of 35:08 and Becky second in 35:44 – reversing the order from last year’s race when Becky was second lady and Sam third.

Both posted faster times this time around; a testament to their hard training in recent weeks.

Kirsty Russell, meanwhile, ran the Harefield 10km, finishing in a PB time of 56:19 as part of Team Macy, which raises money for infants with congenital heart defects.

Matt Hamilton , meanwhile, finished the Diamond Tri at Eton Dorney in 1:12:00, for a new PB over the sprint distance. His time was good enough for eighth overall and first in his age group.
