Riders saddle up for charity cycling Sportive
Lovelo Cycle Works in Berkhamsted hosted another successful cycling Sportive on Sunday with profits going to the Hospice of St Francis, Pace and World Bicycle Relief.
The Lovelo Nevis Sportive challenged riders to do a very hilly 55-mile route with over 4,000ft of ascent on hills around Berkhamsted – representing the approximate equivalent of cycling the height of Ben Nevis.
Riders from as far a field as Birmingham and Lewes in Sussex attended the British Cycling registered event, but it was Berkhamsted Cycling Club member Josh Curtis who took the prize for the fastest ascent up a long steep hill near Tring known as The Crong.
Lovelo hope to organise and host similar events in 2015.
