Berkhamsted Golf Club professional Sam Cutting has made it through to the final qualifying stage of the British Open.
Cutting, 21, took part in the regional qualifying for the Open held at Hankley Common Golf Club, where he delivered an assured display to keep his dreams of reaching the famous tournament alive.
There were 122 players taking part and only eight qualifying spots available.
Cutting was 3-under par after nine holes and, with the back nine playing into a strong wind, he held on to post 1-under for a round of 70 to finish equal fifth.
He now goes forward to final qualifying event next Tuesday where he plays two rounds in a bid to book his spot at St Andrews.
