The rains eased and the sun broke through as 105 parkrunners enjoyed a relatively dry course at Tring Park this week.
A total of 29 runners recorded new personal best times, while 24 newcomers took to the Tring course for the first time.
The event relies on volunteers, and juniors who helped out this week included Bethany Cotton, 7, Holly Cotton, 9, Jim Patterson, 8, and out on the course, juniors Joe Bidlake-Hull and Gus Evans, both 11.
Laban Betheul was first over the line in a storming 18:09 in his first appearance at Tring – leading from the front from the start.
Dominic Evans of Tring RC finished the second half of the course strongly to come home in second place.
For the ladies, young Olivia Lowrie put in a great effort to beat her senior competitors and be first over the line, followed by Tracey Cotton in second position and Olivia’s younger sister Millie in third place.
Dom Evans was the fastest junior boy, followed by Patrick Scahill and Reece Wilcock, while Olivia Lowrie was the fastest female junior over the line, followed by sister Millie Lowrie, both achieving new PBs. Third faster junior was regular Izzi Bidlake-Hull, while Millie Lowrie reached her 10th t-shirt winning run.
Other stand-out performances came from Richard Murphy, who has achieved five PBs in his last six runs, and Steve Bladen who has managed four PBs from the last five runs.
Impressive PBs came from run director Wes Ball, who took 1:28 off his time, and Gary Evans with a 0:54 improvement.
Also this week, Judy Ewart became the 500th lady to run at Tring and Jon Burrow bacame the 750th male. Registration for Tring parkrun is free at www.parkrun.org.uk/tring
