A dedicated runner from Boxmoor will tackle the Virgin London Marathon at the end of this month as he looks to raise money for a charity which is very close to his heart.
Benjamin Paul Mabbett, 31, has chosen to run the marathon in support of the Arthritis Care charity as his mother has suffered from the condition for a considerable amount of time.
Benjamin has been in training since November last year and has enlisted the support of a personal trainer twice a week, as well as running with a local running club in order to get in prime condition for the event.
Last month, he ran 20 miles with the Gade Valley Harriers at their marathon training run, achieving a time of 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Benjamin works for the prestigious Roja Dove Hante Parfumerie on the sixth floor of Harrods in London.
The company are proudly supporting Benjamin and have made generous donations for raffle prizes to help raise money for the cause.
Benjamin is holding a charity fundraising evening for the Arthritis Care charity at The Steam Coach in Boxmoor this month.
The event is sold out, however raffle tickets can still be purchased from the pub.
