Ladies run the show at 30th instalment of the Tring parkrun

For the first time there were more females than males as 96 runners turned out for the 30th Tring parkrun.

As a result, 15 of 19 PBs were recorded by females – including Louse Abslom (30s), Emma Weller (22s) and Liz Daniel (20s).

Jordan Clay of Leighton Buzzard AC was the first finisher in 18:39, his sixth win in seven appearances. Team-mate Ian Grimshaw was second in 19:02, and Dominic Evans of Tring RC was third.

Gemma Bitaraf of Gade Valley Harriers, assisted by her running dog, was first lady finisher in 20:04 – a new record for an assisted run.

For the unassisted ladies, Kate Rennie was fastest in 21:02 followed by Sarah Grover of Dacorum & Tring AC and Tilly Green.

For the junior females, Tilly Green was first home followed by Olivia Burney and Izzy Bidlake-Hull.

Fastest U15 males were Dom Grimshaw, Sam Burnell and Reece Wilcock.
