There was a double win for the Hemel Hempstead Camelot U11s at the Maidenhead minis rugby festival.

Both teams won their group and returned home with medals and a trophy – without losing a game and scoring 37 tries, the Hemel youngsters were once more the players of the day.

The tournament regularly attracts clubs from Hertfordshire, Bucks and Berkshire, with some able to field four or five teams given their sizeable pools of players.

Hemel Hempstead might not have such an wealth of resources, however the club was more than capable of taking on the top teams of the day with some truly talented individuals. Another exciting season is in prospect, which looks sure bring further success.

Particular mention goes to captains Ben Garman and Alfie Beck, who demonstrated good leadership skills, and to coaches Dean Edwards, Paul Adde, Jeremy Garman, as well as referee Vinod Thayil.
