The 23-year-old prop forward started his career with the London Broncos in 2011, before joining the Skolars in 2012.

A mainstay of the New River Stadium outfit ever since, Thomas is pleased to be swapping North London for Hemel.

“I’m really happy to have signed for Hemel,” said Thomas. “I enjoyed my time at Skolars but this is a new challenge for me and I am looking forward to joining up with the boys in pre-season, working hard, and having a big season.”

Stags head coach Troy Perkins added: “Rob is a great signing for us.

“He is a player I have admired for a while; a big lad who is a damaging runner with the ball but also has good skill for a prop.”

He continued: “He has experience playing at the highest level having played Super League with London Broncos and I am expecting big things from him.”
