Hemel boy makes World Cup history

Jordan Parkes set up England's first goal at the U20 World Cup for 12 years.

The young Watford full-back, who hails from Leverstock Green, played in England's final group game of the tournament in Egypt, and provided the assist for Man City youngster Alex Nimely to become the first England U20 World Cup goalscorer since Jamie Carragher.

"I just picked up the ball, threaded him through and he scored," said the 20-year-old of his assist against Uzbekistan.

"To play a part in the goal was great."

Parkes was involved in only the final group game, missing out on earlier defeats to Uruguay and Ghana.
